Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has shared the way he delivers his messages to the Manchester United players during the half-time interval.

The Reds went in at the break against Southampton a goal to the good, thanks to a devastating counter-attack which saw Marcus Rashford break down the right and deliver a low cross for the in-form Jadon Sancho to finish.

However, just minutes after half-time, the visitors were level when Che Adams found himself through on goal and slotted calmly beyond David De Gea.

In his post-match press conference, Rangnick was asked how much information he transmits to the players during the break.

The German explained his methods, stating: I can assure you we are not talking too much. Our half-time conversation with the team lasts as long as all the other teams.

He added to this response, outlining the different processes in the way he delivers instructions to the United squad.

He said: [Team-talks] are four or five minutes, bullet points. [We discuss] the most important things.

We show them two or three videos of footage of situations of what we have to be aware of and wary of.

It is not a problem about the half-time conversation we are having.

Ralf insists the main issue is converting the opportunities that continue to come our way, in order to kill matches off.

Our team has a lot of technical players, and it is difficult for them to stay compact for a longer period of time, he said. This is one of our problems and the other is that we just do not take the chances that we create.

It is not a question of not being able to create the chances, it is a question of [being] effective enough.
